This $9.95 Plan is a Rip Off

I recently found out that my 78 year old brother didn't have any life insurance. So I went on line to research the $9.95 plan from Colonial Penn. Turns out the $9.95 plan buys approximately $580 worth of insurance. The age group referenced in the commercial 50-85 years can buy a maximum of 15 units. 15 units buys you approximately $7400 worth of insurance and it will cost you $149 per month. And it doesn't take effect for 2 years. This is so deceptive and wrong. If most funerals cost $10,000 Colonial Penn is the last life insurance you should buy.

Deceptive

Coloniel Penn is one of many that sells these *** policies. They r deceptive and aimed at the elderly. During the first two years they pay nothing. If u die during that time frame all u get is a return of premium. By year 5 u have paid more into the plan than the death benefit. If u cancel u lose everything. If u continue u r being ripped off . The only way to make these policies work is to die between years 3 and 5.

I have submitted a BBB complaint. I have submitted congressional requests for assistance. Your company preys on the elderly. My mother paid on plans for years and since her death in May, they have failed to make good on their obligation. Every time we submit what they tell us to submit, they come back with a new requirement. This is clearly a scam.

Preferred solution: My mother, who died in May, was a Colonial Penn customer. They need to make good on their obligations. They should stop preying upon and scamming the elderly.

User's recommendation: Stay as far from Colonial Penn as possible and warn others.

Inability of customer service personnel to understand and address issues for customer resolution satisfaction. Continual website errors of processing information/requests. Experienced technical difficulties in completing online registration (multiple attempts) and was told by customer service representatives to try again in 24 hours. Tried to email through their form, and it gave multiple error in processing messages. All information given was correct. NOT impressed with customer service.

Make payment

Fr. I was not PissedI and dont have a complaint. I would like to have Automatic payments. I thought my payments were automatic. When is my payment due each month? My message was not delivered correctly. I did not use the word pissed in my conversation with the CSR. Your CSR needs some additional training.

On December 10,2021 I Davora Smith called Colonial Penn to report the death of one Barry Harold Renfro, sometime between there and December 27,2021,when I called to get an update I was informed by representative that colonial Penn allowed someone other than me call and do an address and that the check was mailed out December 24,2021 to that address I was told that day that a stop payment would be down and that another check would be expedited, I've made several calls being told the same lie. Talked when with JoAnn (supervisor) on January 31, 2022 and was in formed that all call logs and notes had been deleted after speaking with Ken on January 24,2022. As of today February 3,2022 I'm still being told that this is being looked into and the is being expedited. I'm at a loss for word, why am I paying for the mistakes of you company not following your own rules and guide lines.

Fraudulent billing

Received a bill from Colonial Penn about being past due. I did not order a policy from Colonial Penn and never would! There are much better companies out there. I asked for proof of a signature which is needed. No reply. I believe Colonial Penn preys on senior citizens to take advantage of them and their savings.

I ALMOST BOUGHT A POLICY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The shame of not honoring what you stand for/ Colonial Penn Life Insurance. A family trust you to help their remaining loved ones with the cost of burial, etc. Not only do the grieving relatives try to cope with the loss, they also have to deal with fraud, & theft of said policy! Let Congress, & FBI step in, since it is definitely interstate! SHAME ON COLONIAL PENN!

Not happy with the claim process

This company has given my family the runaround. When it comes to paying a claim, they just have not done it. My mother was a policyholder for years. And passed away in June of this year. She named her children as payees. But for some ungodly reason, this company has dropped the ball. Customer Service does not exist with them..
